Wool Blend Serge is a wonderfully durable fabric made from a blend of 45% wool and 55% polyester for superior warmth and ease of use. Heavier in weight than gabardine, Serge features the same diagonal ribbing and texture, a result of its twill weave. Serge fabric's traditional and classic look has long been used for military and professional uniforms, and the material is also great for skirts and slacks.

Tips and Tricks:

• Mark the wrong side with a chalked arrow in the direction of the nap
• For a flatter finish, slash and press darts open
• Shrink and shape sleeve caps before setting them into the garment. If the fullness cannot be eased smoothly then reduce the ease.
• Before pressing cover the pressing surface with wool fabric. Test press to determine he amount of heat, moisture and pressure.
• For sharper fold lines, rub fold on wrong side with a bar of åÊivory soap. Fold in place and press. For sharp well pressed seams use lots of steam or a damp press cloth
